Disintegration of Memory

“Decay of Memory” is a series of paintings based on private photographs, memories, and their distortions. I am interested in the tension between intimacy and unease — the moment when a familiar image begins to shift, blur, and transform into something unfamiliar.

Recurring motifs of children, animals, and landscape function as fragments of emotional memory: unstable, incomplete, and constantly changing their form. A restrained, cold palette and fragmented painterly surface create an atmosphere of images retrieved from memory — suspended between tenderness, loss, and the gradual transformation of representation. Memory is treated not as something that disappears, but as something that continuously changes shape.”
